Tom Lessard, a 30-year-old depressed watch salesman from Newark, NJ, is disappointed to learn that not only must he attend a three-day watch sales convention in Charlotte, NC, but he must do so with his rambunctious co-worker, Ralph. Miserable at the convention, Tom's luck turns around when he meets April, a bartender at the hotel lobby bar.
